After three weeks making rain in Zacatecas, Raul is back home and returns to the decks. Be sure to come down this Thursday to L/S to welcome him back. I'm sure you missed his dance, indie, old soul, and elo selections like i have.
Upcoming, get ready for Halloween. The Loquat family has invited Raul and I to dj with Greg from Fallout for their show with Love Like Fire at Bottom of the Hill on Oct. 31. There will be rad live music, dance party tunes, and a totally awesome costume contest with prizes. Tickets available at the usual outlets.
Some thoughts about last week... Last Thursday, Kirk blew up the Beauty Bar with his rad selections. It's nice to know that you can play lots of unknown but fantastic jams and people will still get down. DYNOMITE! Also, it was nice to meet a lot of new faces, speak with some New York visitors that were told to come down to L/S, and geek out with all the record heads that showed up... Friday at Errrly! started off slow, but things really picked up and quite frankly the rest of the evening was a blur. I do know that the dance floor ended up packed and going for it, many drinks drunk, ZOMBIE FLASH MOB ON THE DANCE FLOOR, etc.... Sunday night at Superrock was rad as usual. Alex was a little under the weather, but he didn't realize the only medicine he needed was to spin records and watch CONTROL. I played some of Stacy's records and was happy to hear Night Moves really loud...
