beauty bar, 2299 mission st at 19th st
Dear friends,
This week and the rest of August is shaping up to be a very awesome month for at L/S.

This Wednesday, Aug. 12, Raul, Ari & I are dj-ing at the Terry Powers & Isaac Vasquez art show Circus Club at Project One. The opening reception starts at 7pm. We start the dance party at 10pm going to 2am.

Noel touches down Thursday from NYC to guest dj at our weekly. Since he's been in New York, I know you've missed his basement parties, warehouse jams, and dive bar gigs. But a couple times a year he is kind enough to dj with us. So in case you couldn't guess: IT IS ON! Noel + Ts = Expens!ve reunion. Sure to be an epic disco jam. Oddz-n-Endz adds to the mix this week prepared to do battle. The main reason really to come out though is to hang with Megan F. It is her birthday. We love her to death; buy her LOTS OF DRINKS!

I hope to see you soon.
Sincerely, Ts

Upcoming events:

Aug. 20 : Ben Kasman dj's
Aug. 22 : L/S one off at the Knockout, details coming soon
Aug. 26 : Joe Budd Art Show at DWR Fillmore

Dear friends,

Last week was so much fun. Thanks for making out to both L/S & Errrly! Green did a fantastic job and played some different jams that kept folks moving and shaking. This was her debut at L/S, and she'll definitely return to the decks for you to check out if you missed her. Errrly was off the hook. Amedee made her dj debut and probably surprised no one but herself at how AWESOME she is. Dan also dj'd and reminded us of some forgotten gems and forewarned of future dance floor killers. Errrly will return the last Friday in August for you folks that don't like to go out.

This week's featured dj is Kylee from Loquat. Kylee's kind enough to share her music with us and also celebrate their new release "Harder Hit" on the Junior Sanchez Classic Remix EP, which hit stores Aug. 4th. See below for more info regarding Kylee and Loquat.

Please come out, bring a friend, spread the word, and I'll see you on the dance floor.

Sincerely, Ts

Nonsensical Muse and Greetings!

Hi I'm Raul! Yes...very happy to meet you. Me? Well thanks for asking. You should expect to see me 'round these parts more often. I hope you'll find this to be as amusing as it is for me...

Speaking of amusing, I had a fantastic night getting reacquainted with an amazing band, the Trash Can Sinatras. They performed an excellent live set at Cafe Du Nord - a mix of mostly new tunes and quite a few from their sophmore album...kinda sadly though, nothing from Cake, their amazing debut from 1990. Out of Glasgow, their version of jangle pop is like C86 meets Aztec Camera...amazing guitar pop sensibilities, great songwriting, and a cool aesthetic that makes you wanna bust out the stripe tees and clarks (or hush puppies if that's your thing). Thanks to my lovely pal, Elise, I was introduced to the fellas and ended up enjoying some reefer and beers backstage with them...turns out they're big Northern Soul fans...so that ended up being a rad conversation. Took some of the fellas over to Lucky 13 for last call where the topic of discussion turned to skateboarding and the music industry...nice.
